Email discussions get complicated once several people get involved. The Discussion Board is a place where multiple people can post comments about a particular issue.

Starting a new discussion
At the top of the list of topics is a link "Click here to start a new discussion". If this option is not shown, your account does not have permission to initiate discussions.

The person who starts the discussion is the moderator. The moderator chooses the title of the discussion. The default title of any new discussion is "[your name]'s new discussion". Obviously you will want to change that to something a bit more relevant. Type in an appropriate title and click "Update title"

Adding comments
Click on the 'Add your comments' link.

A blue edit box pops up. Type in your contributions to the discussion.

The system will preface your comments with today's date, and add your name and email address at the bottom.

Once a comment is posted, it cannot be changed or deleted. So think before you write.

Deleting a discussion - Moderator Option
The moderator can delete a topic at any point by changing the title to:
**delete
This entire discussion will be deleted during overnight processing.

Any discussion that remains inactive for several months is deleted by the system.
