Frontier Power Products is a leading supplier of diesel engines, generator sets, industrial power units, pump units and portable lighting towers.

Overall function/responsibility:

The Branch Manager is a senior member of the management team providing strategic leadership in building a high performing, engaged team who delivers service excellence, profitable sales growth, continuous improvement, market share increases and strong customer and community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a high performing team
  • Understand the northern Alberta market and deliver industry leading customer service
  • Act with the best interest of the Company in mind
  • Use the assets of the branch to the best possible advantage for the company as a whole
  • Provide coaching to team members
  • Communicate openly and frequently to ensure the branch is informed on current performance, branch wins, challenges and objectives
You will be required to:
  • Lead and manage the day to day branch business
  • Understand/know the market and customer opportunities and competition
  • Communicate and execute a strategic business plan for their branch
  • Contribute to and build strong community relationships
  • Work closely with Operations to drive profitable branch sales growth and increase market share
  • Develop and lead a customer driven sales and service culture in the branch
  • Work with the sales force to build and grow strong, positive customer relationships and increase sales, including territory planning and regular customer calls
  • Develop and maintain a well-rounded knowledge of products sold
  • Manage inventory control, facility maintenance and security
  • Analyze daily reports and ensure requisite improvement plans are developed and executed
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement to improve operational performance and increase productivity
  • Ensure safety policies, procedures are followed, such as, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, WCB, and all related governing legislation
  • Maintain high safety standards for company vehicles
  • Ensure compliance of workforce with provincial regulations and codes
  • Prepare appropriate annual, monthly and weekly plans and ensure that each person understands how he or she fits into those plans. Set reasonable goals with deadlines for completion and monitor the compliance with such plans and achievement of such deadlines
  • Lead by example by following all company procedures and policies
  • Provide open communication with other branches and head office
  • Liaise with internal support groups such as Sales, Engineering, Financial Services and Human Resources and provide solution based support to branches including engineering, sales, production and field service support
  • Maintain large house accounts with sales and customer support
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a college or university program in engineering or business administration
  • In addition the successful candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in:
    • Service and Production parts sales
    • Applications of industrial engine and generator sets
  • Prior management experience in operational facilities of between 40 – 80 individuals

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven analytical and quantitative ability, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business and financial acumen
  • Skilled in project and process implementation – able to provide development, oversight, coordination, implementation, prioritization, and tracking of projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications – MS Office Suite
  • Proven track record of continuous learning and understanding the business
